Biography Born in France (Chevreuse), I completed my education in applied arts, graphic design and visual communication, before moving to the UK, to pursue a successful career as a graphic designer in science academic publishing (2000 to 2020). It is in this environment that I developed a particular interest for specialist and technical imagery, which became the focus of my art practice. In 2014, I completed a Doctoral study at the Faculty of the Arts, University of the West of England, Bristol. My research explores the concept of visuality as a shared notion between artistic and scientific production, and more precisely how meaning can be transformed between one domain and another, using the visual as its mode of mediation. In 2020, I relocated to the south of France where I now live and work. Artist Statement My art practice explores the relationship between form and colour, with an underlying interest in the visual language of scientific research. I often take inspiration from data, technical diagrams and notations found in specialist publications, and through an extensive process of investigation I develop a particular, highly constructed aesthetics. My work also refers to other visual traditions, such as notions of modules and programmes (Victor Vasarely and Richard Paul Lohse), colour theories from the Bauhaus (Wassily Kandinsky and Johannes Itten), as well as the grid system from Swiss Modernist designers. Most of all, my aim is to share a relentless fascination for the visual, as I articulate my own response, studying form and colour relationships and their infinite, exhausting, possible combinations.
