I'm a multi disciplinary printmaker working primarily with Cyanotype and Screen printing techniques. I Thoroughly enjoy the harmony between analogue and digital techniques. My focus is to create expressive, beautiful and well composed pieces, free from the weight of traditional conceptual underpinnings. Hopefully this approach drives the audience to make decisions about the work as objects of art, rather than products of the artist. I to enjoy the notion of subjectivity when engaging with an audience, I'd prefer them to see what they'd like, rather than force meaning into a piece. Cyanotyping is a great way for me to engage with digital and analogue processes, combining the best of both worlds and doing away with the farcical debate: Which is better, analogue or digital photography? The limiting factor of the monochromatic blue, is in fact simultaneously freeing as it guides the subject matter.
