ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I began making crosses from found objects after a challenge with a friend. This cross was made in the Folk Art tradition with found objects: the cross piece is an abacus—found in a thrift store and the vertical piece a mid century modern desk accessory made of wood. I then inserted small rolled up pieces of graph paper into the square openings. Some of the pieces of paper may include words or quotes. This is one of a series of over 25 crosses I have made.
