Jennifer Wiley-Vallerand

Jennifer Wiley-Vallerand is an artist who creates multimedia sculptural painting and portraits. She has a unique emotionally-driven approach to her art.

As an artist who has spent years learning both formally and informally about colours, textures and techniques using different mediums such as snow, ice, steel, wood, concrete and fabric, Jennifer enjoys experimenting while she creates. She has developed a unique style that is a fusion of sewing, sculpture, painting and drawing.

Jennifer’s artistic inspiration is fundamentally emotional. As her work builds from one piece to the next, one cannot escape the feeling of rawness represented by her artistic investigation of the depth in each moment. Each piece starts without any plan or expectation - it develops from emotional exploration guiding the creative process. Many influences contribute to the investigation; personal frustration, desires, peace, expectations and even political opinions are intuitively expressed. Brush stroke, texture, and found materials are used to bring about an intentional and meaningful representation unique to the moment of each work. Jennifer connects to her media and immersing herself into the story of every thread.
