Sergio is a self-taught artist born in the fields of the south of Buenos Aires in Argentina. His surrealist style penetrates the core of human integrity, often depicting images of twisted figures and exaggerated gestures. Sergio expresses his feelings about the world that surrounds him through metaphors: every object, every figure, every color has its meaning and transmits its own message. In his years living in San Francisco, California, Sergio discovers and is inspired by the works of Friedrich Nietzche, Franz Kafka, Carlos Castañeda, Carl Gustav Jung, Andréi Tarkovski, Goya, Francis Bacon, Otto Dix, Zdzislaw Beksinski, among others. His paintings reflect a society whose individuals are systematically controlled without realizing it, until their very being, their hopes and dreams, often represented by small paper boats, are lost in the tide of life. Suggesting an intense personal narration, his paintings are imbued with a human drama that invites us to reflect on the world that surrounds us and on ourselves. Its recurrent themes are superficiality, lack of spirituality, anti-clericalism and anti-militarism. Argentine tango lyrics are often introduced in his paintings, giving voice to the sentiments conveyed by his characters. To this day, Sergio lives in the Mexican Caribbean, continuously creating new works.
