Iva Jovancic Vidakovic

Ever since I can remember, I had the need to express myself in an artistic way. I was born and raised in Serbia and I currently live in Novi Sad.
My background is in professional music but both of my parents are artists and growing up in that kind of enviroment only sparked my creativity even more.
Although I am an amateur artist I see that as my advantage. Next to my many mixed media sketchbooks, I paint. Mostly with acrylics on all kinds of surfaces, boards, wooden panels, canvases, paper, anything that I feel has potential to become a painting.
My artwork is inspired by elements from nature, animals, everyday objects as well as landscapes which usually come from my minds eye. As my style keeps evolving and growing, I always find inspiration in artists such as Paul Gauguin, Pierre Bonnard, David Hockney, Milan Konjović, Vojo Stanić, Petar Lubarda etc.
