Welcome to my world of art. My name is Jeong Yongtae, and I am an artist based in Tongyeong and Busan, South Korea.

Growing up in Tongyeong, a city known for its rich heritage in traditional Korean art, I was immersed in the world of Najeonchilgi(mother-of-pearl lacquerware) from a young age. Najeonchilgi, or mother-of-pearl inlay art, has been a part of my life since childhood, and I have had the privilege of learning this traditional craft from seasoned artisans in my community.

In addition to my passion for Najeonchilgi, I have also ventured into the realm of Western painting, honing my skills over the years to receive prestigious national awards. My dedication to both Western painting and Najeonchilgi has allowed me to create unique artworks that seamlessly blend the two traditions, offering viewers a harmonious fusion of East and West.

Throughout my career, I have been recognized for my achievements, including winning the Director's Prize from the Western Painting Culture and Arts Promotion Institute for my outstanding contributions to the field of Western painting.

Born in Tongyeong, Korea in 1950.
Graduated from Yeoseong High School in Tongyeong (17 years of age).
Completed middle school education at Tongyeong Middle School (20 years of age).
Completed high school education at Tongyeong High School (23 years of age).
