Hello! I'm Rob. I have always had an interest in surrealism and its dream-like landscapes where logic and natural laws are suspended. I use objects from my childhood and recent past to reflect stories I want to share about my own life experiences or to suggest paths for the viewers' imagination to travel. Objects, whether man-made or natural, have the power to transport us through time and space. Objects whisper words from cherished loved ones, dance to the tunes of faded youth, and echo the bittersweet of life experience. We feather our nests with these shiny things throughout the course of our lives. My compositions are slowly crafted to tell visual stories which are both personal and universal. To help my viewers develop a better understanding and appreciation for the creative thought process, I have posted descriptions of the symbolism used in each painting. Originally from southwestern Virginia, I lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, and most recently North Carolina. I have taught art on the college and private school levels and operated my own art gallery for many years. Besides being an artist, my greatest joy in life is being the father of three great children and five grandchildren.
