Henri Blommers

I am photographer based in Amsterdam. Besides my own fine art projects, I am also part of a few artist groups like BISH (artists from other disciplines focussed on contemporary issues ->reliability of science, nature, consumption behaviour, health ethics etc). Furthermore part of a photographers collective (Lucifer), who did a huge exhibition outdoors in the biggest park of Amsterdam together with a book with famous dutch authors. I also do a lot of voluntary work like image editing/photographing/editor for a magazine aiming to reduce the stigma around hiv called hello gorgeous. Besides that I commercially make portraits.

I studied at the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam, best eduction you can get in the Netherlands on photography. I graduated on a project (collage created live during the exhibition, a book and a video) about my mother turning blind. What is blindness and what can still see of my work, and what doesn't she want to see.
