Steve Resch was born in 1987 in Warwick, Rhode Island. He grew up in the neighboring town of East Greenwich. It was there where he first discovered his passion for art. In 2010, he earned his Associates in the Fine Arts from the Community College of Rhode Island. He participated in his first group shows there in both 2009 and 2010. Resch received the Merit Scholarship from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011, where he briefly attended undergraduate classes in hopes of receiving his BFA. Although he dropped out of SAIC, he fell in love with the city. Resch only went home for a few months before deciding to return to Chicago, IL where he now resides and works as a full time artist. Primarily a painter who works abstractly, he also uses representational work to self-reflect on the mistakes of his past in order to progress in his future.
