I began formally creating art in the early 1970s, a 50-year journey spanning the precision of commercial graphic design and the visceral world of fine art. As a self-taught painter who returned to the canvas formally in 2018, I bring five decades of visual inquiry and disciplined daily practice to every piece.

My practice is rooted in Graphic Surrealism—a space where the structural logic of a 30-year design career meets a rigorous command of the painted surface. While I am a painter at my core, I have a deep, enduring love for abstraction and the unique possibilities of the digital medium. I utilize digital tools as a modern sketchbook to refine ideas, often developing them into large-scale digital prints that celebrate the clarity and vibrant geometric narratives afforded by the medium. Whether I am working on a physical canvas or a hand-drawn digital composition, my work focuses on the tension between the delicate and the distorted.

Foundational Studies in Fine Art
My formal path began with two intensive years at a local community college—a period I credit as the primary catalyst for my technical discipline and creative outlook. This was followed by further studies at the University of Washington, solidifying a foundation in both classical and contemporary theory.

Early Adoption of Digital Media
I took the digital revolution head‑on, teaching myself the emerging tools of computer‑based image making and integrating them into both commercial art and my fine art practice. Long before AI or contemporary digital workflows, I was creating original digital compositions and hybrid works that expanded my visual vocabulary and informed my approach to painting.

Lifelong Self‑Directed Study
My most significant development has come from a lifelong immersion in the mechanics of visual language—over 50 years of disciplined daily practice and an exhaustive study of international gallery and museum collections. This dual path, combining structured academic training with decades of independent visual research, allows me to bridge traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary, digitally informed perspective.

Public Display Through Online Galleries (2024–present)
Works featured on global art platforms reaching international collectors.

Independent Studio-Based Practice (ongoing)
As a private artist, I choose not to participate in in‑person gallery events or public receptions. I prefer to let the work speak for itself, allowing collectors to connect with each piece directly and without the noise of social performance.

Digital Exhibitions of Curated Works (ongoing)
Self‑curated presentations of new and archival pieces, offering collectors direct access to my evolving practice without the constraints of traditional gallery formats.

Featured in Saatchi Art Collections (ongoing)
Multiple works selected for curated online collections, reflecting growing engagement from international collectors.
