Manfred Rautenberg

I am Manfred Rautenberg, born in 1947 on the German North Sea coast. I create my maritime works from a deep connection to the coastal landscape and from my own memories. With my art, I strive to convey contemplative tranquility. Coastal forms appear as poetic interstitial spaces, characterized by reduction, vastness, and meditative stillness.
Trained as a graduate engineer in the 1970s, my artistic career is rooted in the precision of technical disciplines. For me, the transition from classical engineering to technology-oriented image creation with generative AI is not a break, but a natural progression. The combination of artistic vision and technological openness lends my work a distinctive character.
I use artificial intelligence as a highly sophisticated design tool—similar to complex technical systems. Each work emerges from a rigorous conceptual framework, which I flesh out with finely tuned design, curation, and post-processing steps.
