This recent work of 'small oils', which I call collectively 'The Capricci', are a series of enigmatic, intimate paintings that draw one into a primal, preternatural realm, haunting and uncannily familiar.

The drama of one's 'being-in-the-world' is envisaged as a psychic-landscape charged with immanent personal mythology, dreamed histories and lingering folk-memory.

This is not the world perceived as an entity separate and outside, but the world sensed as the very theatre of being, a seamless continuity of self.
