Kateryna combines contemporary style with Old Masters' Painting Techniques, which give the paintings more depth and creates detailed texture, color harmony and delicate balance of light and dark. The contrast – in texture, in tone, in color, in depictions of ordinary objects along with abstract sensibilities is used to awaken the subliminal in the viewer, to evoke certain associations. These works give a different perspective to seemingly innocuous parts of our day to day life, in them strikingly realistic details are juxtaposed with abstract composition. They at the same time stand out against emotionally charged abstract background and come together to form one image- rich and expressive in both color and emotion.
