My name is Anih ThankGod. I live and work in Enugu State, Nigeria.

As a child, I found it difficult to express myself through words. Drawing and painting became my natural language—a way to communicate ideas, emotions, and experiences that I could not easily articulate. Through art, I discovered my voice and a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.

Being an artist is fundamental to the way I think and experience life. I paint what I see and what I feel, blending observation with imagination. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, my practice explores the relationship between humanity, nature, and the universe through the lens of history, culture, and storytelling. I describe this visual language as Afro-Cosmic Art.

Afro-Cosmic Art is an exploration of human beings as interconnected with the cosmos and inseparable from nature. It merges cultural identity, ancestral memory, and speculative visions of the future to create narratives that transcend time. Through this approach, I seek to honor and immortalize our heroes, ancestors, and collective histories, presenting them as beings empowered by forces greater than the ordinary human experience.
