At 17, Jess picked up a camera and has not strayed far from it since. As a natural shape shifter, she can adapt and navigate within most situations. However, her true nature is quiet and observant - she has a quiet power, a quiet wild and a quiet strength. It was no wonder that a natural connection developed with the ability to communicate with others by showing vs. telling. Within photography, she found a voice for herself.

Jess has photographed in various capacities for over 20 years, honing her own specific style of social documentation and launched her own brand, J.Genevieve in June of 2019. Her belief is that while the truth may be ugly, honesty, not appearances, is best form of beauty. She prefers to photograph the real of it as it unfolds in front of her. Her muses are the process, real life, unideal lighting situations, unfiltered emotion, wild forms and honest souls. Jess built her first business and taught herself the foundations of photography as a stay at home mother raising two children under two.
