Painting and drawing has always been a passion of mine as a way to capture and savor moments in time. Most of my paintings are the result of me being somewhere, and suddenly being moved by a composition or light play. From the time I take a picture on my phone, its all I can think about - getting back to my paper or iPad to be get lost in the image... I am heavily influenced by Edward Hopper, from the first time in high school when we visited a traveling exhibit and I saw his "Railroad Sunset"- I was hooked! My day job is as a Visual Effects (VFX) Supervisor for movies, TV, and commercials, so I am constantly thinking about color and composition- and my art has pushed me to learn new things while my VFX background often gives me ideas on how to improve the pop or focus of a piece. I hope my art gives you joy and lets you appreciate some of the simple moments that we all experience every day in the movies of our own lives...
