Sarah Harvey

Sarah Harvey is an artist based in NSW; Australia. She had her first real taste of printmaking at Central St Martins College in London in 2003 and went on to gain a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (with a major in printmaking) from Queensland College of Art, Brisbane (Griffith University) in 2008. In 2010 she held her first solo show and won the emerging artist prize at Walker St Gallery in Melbourne. Her work is held in many national and international collections, including the Print Council of Australia, Melbourne and QUT Art Museum, Brisbane.

Her work is largely an exploration into the attachment to childhood memories, and the forgotten joy, mystery and nostalgia associated with that time. She draws on inspiration from books, children's illustration, imagination and everyday moments in life. She works primarily on paper through a myriad of printmaking techniques and has recently started to explore other mediums such as textiles and wood.
