Craig Knight gained his BA (Hons) Fine Art from Hull College of HE and PGCE Fine Art from St Martins, Lancaster. He is a figurative painter with eclectic interests ranging from comics/graphic novels, graffiti to fine art and philosophy (as lowbrow and highbrow as possible).
His paintings develop organically as part of a problem-solving process to gain the illusion of control and deal with personal feelings, social relationships, the structure of memories and the construction of identity. Crowded Neo-Pop imagery is employed as metaphor for conceptual confusion, joy created in the dialogue between artist and audience- sharing references, meaning and confusion.
