Once upon a time all the villagers were in their humble abodes. when in a flash and a poof there appeared on the hearth, at the feet of a beautiful young maiden, a most curious pixie sized man dressed all in silvery blue. "Who might you be?" the gentle virgin queried, as if this sort of mischief were common and plain. "I am the smallest magic giant that ever was, ever will be" chirped the tiny intruder. The fair lass raised a brow, slightly. She was in a soft chair with a quill pen in hand, preparing to put to paper in list form her notions of a good mate. Be he a man true or fanciful - of her village or of her dreams - I cannot say. "What business have you here?" she asked. "My business is no business of yours, fair damsel," he sneered, "but just for sport, I'll grant you a single wish." The girl thought deeply for a moment. Deeply, indeed, but not a single thought that this was all too strange, and promptly declared "I would like to have a thousand more wishes!" She grinned as broadly as her face would allow, wholly impressed with her cleverness. The elf furrowed his brow, crossed his satiny azure arms and released a shrill bark "You are smart."
