Intrepid traveler finding inspiration all over the world, which is reflected in my art. For 30 years I worked in the cable TV business and the last 20 at HBO. The day I retired I went straight to art school. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my time and what I wanted to learn to do. I have divided my time ever since then (23 years ago) between working on my art, doing landscape design and architectural projects, traveling throughout the world, studying Eastern thought and philosophy, practicing meditation, staying sober one day at a time.
I studied architecture and drawing in high school and college. I wanted to be an architect. Instead I got a job in the cable TV business and that was that. When I had the good fortune to retire at age 49, 23 years ago (you do the math), I went straight to the National Academy of Art in NYC at 89th and 5th right next to the Guggenheim Museum. I signed up for classes that went from 9am-4pm five days a week for three years. Since that time I've taken a variety of other classes with noted artists and several on-line classes which are fortunately very plentiful.
