In my painting, I explore the inner freedom of a person's personality. A person is born, gets a name, and from that moment he ceases to be a person, forgets himself. Every day a person, like a computer, is loaded with information about what to eat, how to walk, how to behave, what can and cannot...

Ukraine
My name is Olha Trykolich. I am a Ukrainian artist. I started my creative way with a very traditional approach to art but soon switched to exploring the possibilities and depth of different techniques. Art is a process, the long way matters too. And when you love what you are doing, the rough spots are worth it. Today I create a variety of pictures, including large and small formats on canvas, panel, or paper. My main mediums are oil and acrylic paints. However, I like to experiment with different tools and themes and never get hung up on one particular material or technique. Through my paintings, I convey my feelings about the new reality and the changing world around us. During the Coronavirus, when we were all shut down at home, I felt the need to paint a series of works on the theme of limited communication, loneliness, and vaccination. At the same time, I began to explore the topic of identity, each person's connection to family, and the memory of our ancestors' history to build a harmonious future. With the outbreak of war in Ukraine, I am trying to convey the huge power of the world's resistance to evil. I see the beauty of each person's struggle for freedom. These experiences were necessary to find a connection between the several areas of my work: painting, collage, and pop-art. Each painting is an individual story that is born spontaneously, along with the spiral of time.
