"Spring" Painting

Caroline Grace Laginestra is a painter and abstract artist who explores the natural and abstract ways that items and ideas are formed. She works in acrylics on canvas and wood paneling, experiments with paint mixtures, and incorporates collage techniques into her work with materials, such as photographic pages, twine, repurposed items, and natural materials. Her process involves shifting, moving paint and media upon the surface, adding layers, texture, and detail as she studies the creation. Caroline’s complex and unique use of natural media in her work expresses to the viewer her feelings on the simplicity and beauty of nature in our increasingly complex world. She considers a piece complete when it portrays a feeling of trust between the artist and the viewer.

Caroline Laginestra holds a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Connecticut’s School of Fine Arts. Caroline’s interest in art began while in high school when she became involved in an art-based independent study program.
