Michael Crouse

Michael has been producing prints and mixed media work for over forty years. He is a multi-media printmaker having worked in the printmaking processes of relief, lithography, intaglio, screen-printing, and monotype.

Michael’s prints have been exhibited in England, South Korea, Canada, Vietnam, the Netherlands, Spain, as well as throughout the United States. Galleries in Atlanta, GA, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Asheville, NC, Chicago, IL, Kenosha, WI, Birmingham and Montgomery, AL have represented his work. Michael’s work is included in corporate, public, and private collections.

Michael participated in the one week, 2010, Boston Printmakers’ Forum on Creativity in Guanajuato, Mexico, led by printmakers Carol Summers and Karen Kunc. In 2003, Michael spent the month of February working at the Cork Printmakers workshop in Cork, Ireland. Michael was an artist-in-residence, 1988-89, at the Loughborough College of Art and Design, Loughborough, England.

In 2006, Michael founded BrokenStone Press in Paducah’s Lowertown Arts District. BrokenStone Press specializes in the printmaking processes of lithography, relief, screen-printing, and monotype.

Michael was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Michael earned a diploma from Kendall School of Design, a BFA degree from the Atlanta College of Art and a MFA degree from the University of Michigan.
