Dubai-based artist Maggie has been fond of Oriental art since childhood, she was fascinated by Byobu (wind walls), hand-painted Antique Japanese Gold Screens, which were used In Japan to separate interior spaces and provide privacy within a section of a room. Inspired by the beauty and the elegance of these antique, yet timeless panels, she created a series of artworks "Artefact by Maggie", a bridge between eastern and western cultures, a glimpse of oriental beauty through her eyes. Passionately sympathetic towards animals, Maggie often paints them along with jungle and floral motifs. Her painting style remains more and less the same throughout her life, she creates detailed compositions, featuring animals, birds and magical creatures in nature environments, which she paints with oils, acrylic and gold leaf paint, carefully considering every brush stroke, line and color.
