Renew Painting

I grew up in Lancaster, SC. Although I left briefly to experience big city life, I yearned for the country and it wasn’t long before I returned. As a child, I suffered from asthma so much of my time was spent drawing and painting. Over the years, my focus has evolved from charcoal drawings of horses, watercolors, and oil pastels to oil paintings. I’ve received numerous awards while I’ve grown my talent. My paintings have been sold throughout the United States. My niche is painting scenes of the low country. I feel driven to capture the beauty of the ever-changing marsh. I’m sure this stems from childhood. My entire family would travel to Pawley’s Island where we rented a house for the week. I would look forward to this vacation all year. I knew we were close to our destination when the salt marshes appeared. It was the most perfect time. To me, the low country is joyous, yet tranquil. I want to inspire that feeling to others through my oil paintings. In this crazy world, if I can bring peace and happiness to someone through my art, I have succeeded. I currently live in SC with my husband, two sons, a German Shepherd, and an Aussie. We visit the lowcountry every chance we get.
