Blažo Kovačević - an accomplished artist, designer, and curator hailing from Montenegro. Kovačević’s creativity is fueled by his fascination with conflict, as evidenced by his usage of visual elements, materials, and ideas that contradict each other. He’s also interested in exploring social phenomena, with his most recent work focusing on contemporary issues such as privacy and migration. Kovačević creates digital simulations and reenactments of documented incidents of human trafficking to highlight this acute problem, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in these perilous situations. He has exhibited his work nationally and internationally, including being part of the “Futurities, Uncertain Cornell Biennial, Local Futurities” juried satellite group exhibition at Cherry Gallery in Ithaca, NY. Kovačević has curated museum exhibitions featuring the works of renowned artists like Mirko Ilić, Milton Glaser, and Seymour Chwast. His work has won numerous awards and has been featured in various art publications and media outlets, such as Design Issues Journal, MIT Publication, ARTPULSE, and PRINT Magazine.
