Kristen Schiele

Kristen Schiele creates work in painting, scenic installations and collage. The works are inspired by stage sets, cinema, folklore, allegory, kitsch, and psychologically charged storytelling. Small scale paintings, reminiscent of movie stills, are made on prepared panels with 70s pulp magazine cut-outs, set in a frame with layers of Plexiglass, stencilled and etched. Larger scale paintings are layerd works on canvas with built elements, collage and silkscreen.
