Bureaucracy and creativity make strange bedfellows. Confessions told, I am a bureaucrat by profession and an artist by birth. Creating paintings and readymades are my balm; a way to clear my mind of the daily grind, reprioritize goals, and reenergize myself through memory, creativity and imagination. Being a civil servant affords me the opportunity to make a difference in the sea of government; my artistic endeavors refresh my perspective and add clarity to issues and problem solving. While art and civil service may seem diametrically opposed, for me, they complement and enhance each other. The energy and cross pollination between the two is endless and ripe for the taking. My paintings and readymades achieve a complexity and contradiction that would not be possible without this bipolar marriage.
