My research is related to the perception of art of past centuries in a modern context. Synthesis of academic drawing and abstract textures.

My works touch on the theme of cultural memory and aesthetics of the past. The art of the past can be rethought in the context of modernity and make the viewer look into the depths of centuries.

The textures of ancient frescoes, the monumentality of antique sculptures, the coloring of Renaissance book miniatures - all this became the source for my creative practice.
The combination of several layers of graphic drawing, painting and collage helps to achieve the effect of antiquity. To convey the effect of "fragility" in the work, charcoal, corrugated cardboard and other types of paper are also used.
Recycled images of various art movements create a dialogue between tradition and modernity.

Born in the Urals, studied in Siberia. In 2013, she graduated from the art school where she studied from the age of 5. Then from 2014 to 2020, she received a degree in painting from the Academy of Culture and Arts of TGIK. In 2021, she became a teacher of academic drawing at the Academy of Architecture. Maria is also the author of a school of watercolor painting for adults.
