Ummet Karaca

I was born in Georgia in 1956. In 1987 i opened my first personal exhibition in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 1993, i held my first personal exhibition in Turkey at Varol Art Gallery in Istanbul. Afterwards, i continued to participate in many group exhibitions and open personal exhibitions in Istanbul and Ankara.

I am generally deals with the theme of Istanbul in my paintings made with oil painting technique on canvas. In my works, i prefers to portray the streets, people, nature and social life of the city in a classical style. i especially likes to paint landscapes from Büyükada. Although i am generally known for my cityscapes, i also worked in still life and portraits.

I am still living in Istanbul and continues my art work.

I studied at the "Tbilisi State Academy of Arts" between 1978 and 1982 in Georgia.
