Miriam Habibe is a Welsh-based artist of BAME South Asian heritage whose work explores identity, resilience, and self-discovery. After years dedicated to parenthood and a full-time career, she returned to her artistic roots, blending tradition with modern experimentation. Inspired by SAORI weaving, a Japanese philosophy of intuitive creativity, Miriam integrates fibres, painted glass, and digital media into her practice. She bridges personal truth with universal narratives, using art as a means of connection and expression.
Miriam holds a 2.1 Honours degree in Time-Based Media/Fine Art from Preston Polytechnic (1988)
Her work has been featured in prestigious exhibitions such as Boomer Gallery's Identity, Threads of Connection, and Manchester Art Fair (2024). She was recognized in 101 Contemporary Artists & More.../ VOL9 and exhibited with CasildArt Gallery (2024/2025), where she connected with American collectors. In June 2025, she was a finalist in Boomer Art Gallery’s Art Prize.
