Olufunke Esekhalu Ojukwu

I am a female visual artist who specialises in painting but always enjoy exploring and including other materials in my art creations.

My art is inspired by everyday scenes, sights, situations, emotions, people, colours, shapes and forms of different kinds gives the nudge to create and make tangible and mostly beautiful, thought provoking art.

I have come to realise that art ideas comes from deep within and later matched by colours, materials or objects to convey the interpretation for better understanding. These ideas many times are personal experience followed by the effects on the society. In other words, my art speaks my thoughts and experiences.

I attended Nigerian Navy Secondary School, ojo, lagos, where my creativity was greatly encouraged for me to apply into art school.

I graduated as a painter in 2006 from the Art school in Yaba college of technology.
