I got my start way, way late in life at 40 years old. Initially,
art was supposed to be a form of therapy for PTSD. However, it quickly became my long lost passion and since then I've devoted more hours than I can keep track of on my pursuit to be the best artist I can be.
The thought that my work can cause emotions in others they weren't otherwise feeling, a tear in someone's eye, or a smile on someone's face, is what truly brings me joy.
I haven't taken any formal lessons or attended any events, nor have I had or been a part of any exhibits. I have however, sold many pieces to private buyers and have done commissioned works as well.
I work primarily in charcoal and acrylic. Charcoal, leaning more towards varying levels of realism with a twist and, acrylics largely for abstract pieces. My styles may evolve as I grow as an artist and I know it's going to be a wonderful journey so you can always expect something new coming around the corner.
I truly do enjoy every aspect of being an artist (yes even the stress). So, there you have it.
Cheers
