Jerusalem based. Born in South Africa, as Guy Segal to 3rd generation Israeli parents. Growing up, family would travel a lot for business and Guy felt very much blended in with the fellow kids in her public school abroad. Her Jewish Identity remained distant and unspoken of, strictly cultural and non-religious. After she has grown, Guy learned her family's stories from the Holocaust, during WW2, and what had happened to her great grandparent's parents, uncles, cousins and siblings left behind in Europe, who did not leave before the war. Learning this, she began adding the color black to her paintings which were, till then, handled with an impressionistic pallet - mainly blue, red, yellow and white. Further more, she decided to adopt her grandmothers' and mother's last names and carry them with her in memory of her ancestors lost. Guy Segal Zamosh Markuza Meller is a painter, singer-songwriter and performance artist living and working in Israel. Her works aim to heal core issues in society and culture - gently triggering the most sensitive fields of the psyche. "Rape culture", "Miracles", a "Voice" vs. a "Vote" in the Israel democracy, the wild meaning of adopting the full "Feminine Gaze" - all of these are just some of the subjects GSZMM tries to provoke with her art and creation. She is married to Yishai Leissner, a fashion designer and drummer in their band "Evyona". Her works have been soled in street performances as well as independent art sales and are included in several private collections in Israel and around the globe. Also, her work has pissed many people off whilst aspiring others.
