Carlos Apitz is a graphic designer and illustrator of great trajectory and recognized for his works in Venezuela, his country of origin. Graduated from the Higuera Drawing and Design Academy in 1984 and studies at the Academia del Maestro Galeandro in Caracas. He currently works as a Graphic Designer and has a weekly section of political cartoons: "Apitz y su Lápiz", on the news portal "" Since 2015 he lives in the United States, where he takes up painting as an artistic expression. Upon arriving in the US, Carlos Apitz reinvents himself as an artist with a new and personal style that identifies his works, more cheerful, free, with graphic and kinetic elements, this new style is aligned to New Pop Art. This new style is very different from his works of the 90s, where oil painting, airbrushing and hyperrealism were used in surrealist creations. He makes his first exhibition in Miami (January 2016) and receives very good comments and great interest in his works. Since then, he has exhibited frequently in art galleries and cultural events in South Florida. Through his works, created with a characteristic personal style, he offers us two typical themes in his paintings: Venezuela and the American POP Culture. In the first, the landscapes, cultural elements and characters of his native country are mixed with kinetic art and other graphic elements, trying to project a Venezuelan POP Art, colorful, cheerful and sometimes, a bit nostalgic. It is here where he creates his original paintings of the "Avila in several times", emblematic mountain of Caracas, the Venezuelan capital. Carlos Apitz comments on these works: "I want people to see something more than a mountain, I hope they can see happiness inside the mountain and its colors throughout the day as a means to connect with our best memories." In the second, the American Pop Culture is the protagonist; with actors and celebrities of the cinema, who are used as inspiration in their creations. His works are made in mixed technique, mostly acrylic on canvas, ceramics or decorative objects, also experimenting with digital art, especially with the vector illustration that prints on cardstock and canvas to then intervene each form in a personal way. His works can be seen on his social networks: (Instagram and Facebook), there he also announces his upcoming exhibitions and events. In and in for online purchases.
