About Me - I am a self taught traditional painter and mixed media artist with over 30 years of experience. It has been my life long joy and passion to create art. Through a lens of imagination, real observation, and intellectual curiosity, I bring to life characters and scenes that feel both familiar and fantastical, woven with the mysteries of myth and folklore, or the simple and timeless beauty of the natural world. ​ With my art I invite viewers to step into this world where imagination, enchantment, and nature converge—a place where the whimsical and the wise meet, evoking tranquility, mystery, delight, and the quiet thrill of something that feels magical - - where the Fair Folk dance beneath moonlit skies, ancient Goddesses whisper secrets of the cosmos, and wonderlands of whimsical animals are open to explore. My art walks a delicate line between playful and elegant. With soft colors, layered textures, and intricate details, I blend the dreamlike with realism, and the richness of vintage influences. I work intuitively with oils, gouache, and other mixed media to achieve the tone and energy that best suits my subject. ​ Beyond my paintings, I enjoy exploring mixed media, incorporating vintage findings, delicate fabrics, aged papers, and elegant embellishments. These carefully chosen materials add layers of history and texture, creating depth and intrigue, as if each piece holds a story waiting to be uncovered. My creative process is a blend of structure and intuition. Each piece goes through a kind of evolutionary process from concept to completion. At times I am immersed in nature, observing while sketching, making small studies, and taking photographs. Other times I am reflecting, feeling, and expressing from my dreams and inner nature, or mythic inspiration. I love having a feeling of dreaminess woven into even the most simple compositions. In my studio I utilize the references I make and other mediums for final compositions.
