ALEXANDROS KAGIAS was born in Thessaloniki (1956). He developed a passion for painting when he was younger. When he was a high school student, the famous painter-hagiographer Nikolaos P. Georgiadis urged him to study and work at his atelier of Byzantine art (hagiography) at the center of Thessaloniki. He completed his knowledge in Byzantine art and painting at the famous hagiographer Christofanis Boutsina s atelier.His greatest teacher and a very good friend was Savvas Konstantinidis, professor at School of Fine Arts of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. From 1972 until 1992 he painted many temples-churches in various cities in Greece:Panagia Reumatokratousa Gefira Thessaloniki,chapel in Mount Athos Megisti Laura,Saint Loukas in Millitary Hospital 424 in Thessaloniki,Saint Dionisios in Kastoria.A part of Agios Athanasios Τhessaloniki,Panagia Deksia Thessaloniki, Saint Marina Thessaoliniki,Euagelistria Thessaloniki, Saint Athanasios (Mikrokampo) as well as in the cities of Kozani, Grevena, Sindo, Liti and Filadelfia of Thessaloniki. 1989: exhibition in French Institute Thessaloniki. 1995:exhibition in the University Makedonia, Thessaloniki. 2005:He paints a fresco painting of Saint Dimitrios (6m x 7m) at the Guard Officers Club of Thessaloniki 2012: Gallery "Зопотая" in Moscow. 2013: Museum Duhovnie of Kiev. 2015: Νational Museum of History and Culture of Belarus," Mount Athos". Award from the Archbishop of Minsk. 2015: InterContinental Kiev,(represented by Galerie Les Noms). 2018: International airport “Zhuliany,Kiev, Gallery Les Noms. Since 2000 he is a member of the Greek Chamber of Art.
