This is the first bear I ever see in my life. I visited Yellowstone and was able to see a couple of bears. When I saw it, I was very excited and so I took a lot of pictures then this painting was created. I was pleased to have this painting created. I'm sure the collector will enjoy it too.

Eledel Osorio Giddings was born and grew up in a small town by the sea in the Philippines to a family where artistic talent was nurtured. Eledel’s first art teacher was her father who was and remains well known in the region for his public murals. She started drawing at six years old and in grade school was able to earn extra “school allowance” by selling her drawings to classmates for one peso. During her school years she continued to learn from her father and eventually began helping him with his commissioned mural and other public and private work. As an adult in the Philippines she worked as a graphic designer where she obtained broad experience designing banners, signage, murals, hand letterings and all manner of illustrations for printed material while still assisting her father with his projects. In 2010, Eledel immigrated to the U.S. to marry her husband whose encouragement and appreciation of art influenced her to pursue her career in art. For Eledel, moving to the U.S. was like being born again. So much was different from her country - different people and different way of life. There was so much to learn and these new experiences and differences allowed her to explore new ways of thinking and to follow new avenues of creativity as she could never have imagined before. She went on to get a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, graduating cum laude from the University of Arizona in May, 2015 with a major in Visual Communications. Currently, she does portrait commissions using various mediums and continues to create new work for future exhibitions.
