This oil and cold wax painting on canvas reflects a Starbucks latte, a Porsche key on a chain, and a pair of sunglasses. About Robert Carroll “My paintings on Saatchi Art reflect stylistic differences as I explore Abstracted Pop and Abstractions. My Abstracted Pop series examines contemporary objective elements with non-objective components within the same painting. As the series has progressed, I have used cold wax with oil paints and incorporated brayers, squeegees and palette knives along with traditional brushwork in the paintings. Abstractions features mixed media along with the additional painting tools used in the Abstracted Pop series. Many of the works have found objects affixed. Although there are many artists I admire, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, James Rosenquist and David Salle most directly influence my work.” ---Robert Carroll Rob Carroll studied art at the College of Coastal Georgia and has participated in numerous workshops. His work was sold in Atlanta, GA by an interior designer and is found in private collections and businesses from Florida to Maine. His work has been in group exhibits at the Glynn County Library, Glynn Visual Arts and Southeast Georgia Hospital. Rob had a solo show Going Coastal at the Brunswick Stewdio in 2016. He had a superior high school art teacher who started him on a lifetime journey of painting. Rob works out of his studio at Edwards Plaza on Saint Simons Island. Robert’s working career was in the oil and healthcare industries in financial management. He and his wife, Leslie, live on Saint Simons Island, GA.
