Born and raised in Clayton, North Carolina, Sneak was never influenced by art in the community; he did, however, grow up around music with his father, and he used music as a form of art therapy to get him through tough times. Music was the one outlet that helped him keep his mind clear. It was also his first muse – he began his art career by recreating posters of musicians, athletes, and centerfolds. These early endeavors forged his love of the human form, especially the female body. Sneak attended UNC Wilmington for Business Management with a concentration in Marketing. While in college, he took an art class as an elective that reignited his interest in creating his own art. He bettered his technique, finding his way back to the human form and developing an appreciation for abstract art along the way. Prior to college, he had only worked with pencil and charcoal. After graduating, he taught himself to paint while working as a loan officer at Wells Fargo. At the time, the economy was recovering from a recession, and the financial industry lost its appeal for Sneak. Again, he taught himself a new skill: fixing cell phones, tablets, and laptops. What was a side business grew exponentially to include three retail storefronts in less than two years. He was self-employed and successful, and, at 30, sold his retail chain and moved to Florida to pursue his art full-time. Selling his business to establish himself as an artist was his singular vision. He now calls Miami home and has been developing the Sneak brand since 2018. Life has been a rollercoaster, especially as an artist, but he is driven by the support of his collectors, the uniquely beautiful people and environment, and his NC-born humility. Miami is his home, and art is his life. Welcome to The Art of Sneak.
