Catia originally trained in Law and Business, but art has always run alongside her path. In 1995, she began exploring oil painting in artists' studios in São Paulo, drawn by a quiet fascination with light, texture, and the emotional language of materials. Over the years, she has immersed herself in a range of techniques, including acrylic painting and life drawing, studying at places like the Pan-American School of Art and taking part in unique programs like “Cozinha da Pintura.” Her journey eventually led her to Parque Lage in Rio de Janeiro, where she learned from artists such as Bruno Miguel and Marcelo Rocha. Her work has been shown in cultural venues such as Galeria Tato (2024, 2025), the Museum of the Post Office (Museu dos Correios – 2024), and featured in projects by Funarte, the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo, and Conjunto Nacional. Catia’s artistic process also deepened through mentorship and residencies, including the 6x6 Program, Casa Tato 11, and guidance from Julie Belfer Sarian. At the heart of her work is a desire to make the invisible visible — to give form to what we feel but cannot always name. Her paintings are quiet invitations to pause, reflect, and connect — always grounded in thoughtful observation and an openness to what the world is trying to say.
