an original oil painting of the wonderful Log Lady from David Lynch's Twin Peaks - Catherine Coulson painted on wood panel

thanks wiki.....
"The Log Lady is a fixture in the town of Twin Peaks by the time of Laura Palmer's murder, and most residents in the town regard her as crazy. This is mainly due to her habit of always carrying a small log in her arms, with which she seems to share a psychic connection, often dispensing advice and visions of clairvoyance which she claims come from the log; prior to the murder, she delivers moving and cryptic warnings to Laura Palmer herself. The Log Lady does not interpret the messages transmitted by the log, but instead functions as a medium for the information it conveys."

Emma Mount is an English self-taught artist. After a 10 year design career in London she is now a fulltime painter living on the south coast, a stone’s throw from countryside, forest and sea. Emma paints a variety of subjects including big eyed art, the age old tradition of lovers eyes, cats, ghouls, space girls, movie icons, vintage Barbies all in oil paint on wood and preloved skateboards. Having worked as a designer she is very much caught up in the excitement of creation, and loves the endless creative possibilities that come from painting, and making a blank space come to life Her art is directly influenced by having been a teenager in the 80s. “”I was hugely influenced by the birth of pop videos like Duran Duran's. I loved Nagel's artwork like the Rio cover, and I also loved all the airbrushed Syd Brak works that were everywhere at that time. I used to draw all sorts, but started gravitating towards sketching from photos of strong female idols like Debbie Harry & Kate Bush, exotic models that I saw in mum's fashion mags, or my teen music mags, as well as iconic glam men like Bowie & Adam Ant. At the same time my fascination with the spooky side of life started to show itself as I discovered Hammer Horror & the Addams Family, and started to build a collection of ghost/horror books that would also influence my sketches”” And her love affair with the pop culture, music, graphics & fashion of that decade continues still today. Modern day influences come from a love of road-trip adventures, hiking in the wild, and kitsch flea-market finds – some of whom find themselves in her art. On becoming a mother to a daughter, Emma discovered the cult of Blythe Dolls which led to a huge ongoing series of big eyed art, which led to her first magazine cover, as well as pieces being displayed in Fullerton Museum, California big eyed retrospective alongside the works of Margaret Keane, which led to her first published paintings in The Graphic Art of the Underground. She is a regular vendor at BlytheconUK Ongoing Emma is a regular exhibiter in overseas shows, her works have been exhibited in Montreal, Melbourne, Vancouver, Rome, New York, LA, San Francisco, UK.
