Shabnam is an interior designer, who practices painting, photography and experimental filmmaking. She has two masters from University of the Arts London, Chelsea College of the Arts; MA interior and Spatial Design, Master in Art Practice research, and Art psychotherapy from Roehampton university (based on Carl Jung’s Theories). She teaches Art in communities, museums and schools. Her love of art expands to music and dance from childhood to practice ballet, voice training and singing in choir. She uses mix media to create an art work. Exploring with the concept of "time" is significant, mainly in her short films and video installations to challenge the concept of linear time. Being a well travelled artist, exploring nature, museums, and art galleries from North America to Far east , east and west Europe gave her opportunity to have a interesting photo archive of different scenes of countries. Abstract photography of her is the result of shooting objects via different filters such as water and glass. The concept of one of her collections was to create abstract images of still objects under the perturbed water with the effect of light. Concept of "time" and "water" can be traced in most of her art works. Her latest short film theme is about women based on 'Delay Cinema' technique exhibited in Royal Academy of Arts in 2015. She actively involves in Charities to support art and mental health.
