Images always intrigued me. And a few black and white images captured by Raghu Rai made a significant difference to my whole approach towards photography. This was some thirty years back, when I started looking at photography as another medium of art. It is a passion for this art that drew me closer to this medium. I started capturing things those normally do not catch our attention, things those we tend to overlook, curious things those reside beyond the obvious. These helped me tell stories of life through my images. Few years that I spent as a member of Jadavpur University Photographic Club helped me hone my artistic skills. Have exhibited photographs in prestigious salons, both national and international, and have contributed photographs to popular journals and books, including the book called "Calcutta the living City" published by Oxford Press. Occasional contestant in different national and international photo contests and won several awards including 2nd place in Nikon Photo Contest, Academy Award, Better Photography "Photographer of the year", UNESCO Photo contest, different awards from Photo-division, Govt. of India etc. Currently working on a project called "Poetry Through Light". Thanks to my wife Debalina, also a very good photo artist, whose support has made it possible for me to continue.
