Ary Mari

Ary Mari was born in São Paulo in 1941, son of parents with Italian origin.
From the time he was a child, he presented his school books adorned with drawings that especially drew attention from his mother who spoke: “this boy is going to be an artist”.

In 1963 he was selected to work in FORMA S.A. furniture and objects of art that represented KNOLL INTERNATIONAL in Brazil. In this company he remained for 35 years of work as project supervisor, and gets to know the great masters of the school BAUHAUS, GROPIUS, KANDINSK, KLEE and others.

His passion for the arts, design and architecture made him spend his leisure time in drawing and painting.

Since 2005, he has been dedicating all his time to arts. His necessity to create and seek new experiences in painting and drawing in their works is a constant activity, showing a great variety of themes and diversified styles, nature, light and color is still a mystery to the artist, who does not stick to patterns in his quest for new forms of artistic expression. This seek adventure is applied in his works, and results in compositions of shapes and colors in harmony.

In 1959 he graduated in architectural design at the Ramos de Azevedo do Liceu de Artes e Ofício of São Paulo. He has worked with some architects, like: ALFREDO MATHIAS and LUCJAN KORNGOLD as draftsman.

In 1991, he has graduated as an architect from the Faculdade de Belas Artes of São Paulo.
