Emma Burleigh

I like to paint the world I observe around me; illustrating little remembered moments from everyday life and some of the unexpected flashes of beauty which touch me. Much of my work is inspired by the glory of nature, and some of it is more narrative based.

I live in Britain, in the city of Bristol. I recently completed a masters in 'Authorial Illustration' at Falmouth University in Cornwall, with Distinction.

In 1999 I graduated with a first class BA Hons degree in Fine Art and English Lit. from Exeter University, and since then I've worked as an artist, an art teacher, a gardener, and a youth and community worker.

I'm passionate about colour, and love exploring the translucent, vibrant, unpredictable qualities of watercolour. I'm interested in the inner psychic journey as much as the outer world.
