Elena Koldunova (originally Russian) and Vladimir Klyosov (originally Ukrainian) are professional
photographers and visual artists who have been collaborating as the duo Koldunova+Klyosov since 2005.
They currently reside and work in the USA.
In their personal projects, they explore themes that deeply resonate with them. They firmly believe in the power of beauty, whether it reveals itself in people, places, or objects. Beauty possesses the remarkable ability to attract and captivate, and people usually defend what they love. Through their photos, they aim to capture and express the beauty of the world as they see it and share it with others.
They frequently use ultra-large format film, blending analog and digital techniques to achieve a unique expression that combines the magic of film photography with the highest quality of modern digital technology. They appreciate darkroom and alternative processes. Sometimes they print their black and white photographs on cotton papers, which they cover with gold or platinum leaves and sensitive photoemulsion.
