Italian artist, I love to built atmospheres apparently light hues, yet slightly disturbing. Small, colored reproductions on paper chanting a hymn to femininity, caught and described in its different facets. I carefully select distilled segments of real life from newspapers and magazines, then I paste them into my pictorial universe made of meticulous cutouts of people, objects or simply colors. My language conveys emotions and thoughts, rather than reality. A discourse attentively construed using the expressive opportunities of collage, focusing on femininity. The result brings the audience closer to a dreamlike experience, in which the characters fluctuate in evocative atmospheres able to reproduce the situations and feelings of real life. In my collages I take back the contemporary figurative culture to which I'm inspired. I de-codifies it and put it back on paper, following a unique grammar of signs and stereotypes, interpreting the female world or re-discovering some sort of alter ego to the image of herself. My collages are a tribute to slowness and come from the need to find “room for myself” in a world stressed by pressing rhythms... a room in which i can “be free” without hesitation. Free thoughts, unleashed, turn into visions, some sort of paper dream transferred onto paper, with paper. Thoughts upon particularly dear themes; personal experiences translated into images, sometimes intimate, almost indecent in their privacy. It's as if, through my collages, I opened very secret drawers, boxes hidden within, and pulled out, bit by bit, the strings that I had forgotten or wished to bury in the chaos of my daily life.
