Abstraction can transcend any theme, style and field and is a wonderfully adaptable form of expression – it can handle complexity & communicate emotions. Within this pallet I found inspiration and access to a broad spectrum of discovery. Each piece is an appreciation of a unique moment that passes. Sometimes almost unfinished, illogical, raw, or merely whimsical. Some stand out for their use of color or unusual forms, others for the techniques they employ. All of them want to express acceptance for the many shapes & sides of ourselves. In our fast-paced life there’s ever less time to pause, to dream, to fail, to laugh. Because we are always occupied with striving for more, better & faster, we forget to consider what really moves us in this precious time that is ours. Through my work, I try to take a break and explore this abstract space of emotion, doubt, confusion, and everything that makes us unique, alive & human. In this way, each piece is a journey of discovery, exploring the dynamic nature of the emotional landscape and taking snapshots to appreciate a unique moment of being. I especially value the small imperfections and unplanned surprises, the individual features that make up the charm of the hand-made. I hope the results can serve as reminders of the beauty that exists within the intangible and elusive aspects of our existence. Educated in fine arts in Germany at 'Burg Giebichenstein' - University of art, with a degree in Interior Design. I'm currently living and working in beautiful Lisbon, Portugal. Accepting commissioned work.
